State Councilor Wang Yong Praises CITIC Combined Fleet as Model for Chinese Enterprises to “Go Global”

State Councilor Wang Yong, who was on a state visit to Angola, inspected the Angolan encampment of CITIC Construction and visited the CITIC BN Vocational School (Angola) along with his delegation on June 4, 2017. After hearing the reports made by Cai Huaxiang, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of CITIC Group Corporation, State Councilor Wang Yong and his delegation spoke highly of CITIC for leading the combined fleet comprised of Chinese enterprises to “Go Global”, giving full play to its “soft power” and improving the overseas image of Chinese enterprises. They praised the CITIC combined fleet as the model for Chinese enterprises to “Go Global”.

After being briefed on the construction and operation of the CITIC BN Vocational School (Angola) during his visit, State Councilor Wang Yong hailed that CITIC shows its distinctive characteristics in fulfilling social responsibilities. Through such a public education project, its well-reputed brand will help improve the image of Chinese people in Angola.

State Councilor Wang Yong, after being briefed on the major projects of CITIC Construction in Angola and their social returns, pointed out that as a super state-owned enterprise, CITIC has well implemented the national strategy of “Go Global” by donating the Confucius Institute at Agostinho Neto University and launching a social return program on table tennis.

Through such efforts, the company, as a flag for Chinese enterprises in Angola,has brought “soft power” of Chinese culture into full play and guarded the images of the Chinese government, Chinese enterprises and Chinese people, he added.

The business model of “combined fleet” adopted by CITIC Construction is excellent since the members can cooperate with each other to “sail out” by playing their own advantages, he said, adding that it serves as the model for Chinese enterprises to “Go Global”.

Minister of Civil Affairs Huang Shuxian, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming, Vice Chairman of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Wang Wenbin, Director of the Department of Social Development under the Research Office of the State Council Qiao Shangkui and Chinese Ambassador to Angola Cui Aimin accompanied the inspection.
