CITIC Group Corporation President Wang Jiong Makes Inspection Tour to Malaysia

Wang Jiong, Vice Chairman and President of CITIC Group Corporation met with Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong, Minister in Malaysian Prime Minister's Department, Dato' Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed, Malaysian Minister for International Trade and Industry, and Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Malaysian Minister of Transport and President of the Malaysian Chinese Association in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia on November 15, 2017. Xu Zuo, Assistant President of CITIC Group Corporation and President of CITIC Dicastal, Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction and the CITIC Construction’s cooperative partner in Malaysia-Mr. Ter Leong Yap, President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia and Executive Chairman at Sunsuria Berhad were present at the meeting.

President Wang Jiong told Dato' Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed that CITIC Group Corporation will deepen cooperation and expand investment in industrial products with core competitive advantages with local manufacturers in Malaysia. The minister welcomes CITIC Group Corporation to establish business in Malaysia, in a bid to further promote the economic and trade development of both countries.

Minister Liow Tiong Lai hopes that the CITIC Group Corporation could play an important role in Malaysia’s economic transformation, and welcomes the CITIC Group Corporation to participate in in-depth cooperation in such areas as the country’s transportation infrastructure and logistics.

President Wang Jiong witnessed the signing of a memorandum on cooperation in the development of Sunsuria City and the project of the Sunsuria headquarters between CITIC Construction and Sunsuria Berhad, which marks a new landmark for the joint venture of CITIC and Sunsuria in project contracting business in Malaysia. Enjoying a sound start, both sides should cherish the commitments, and implement and realize their goals, President Wang Jiong added.
