Chairman of CITIC Construction Chen Xiaojia Takes Office as President of China Agricultural Association for International Exchange

The 2nd session of the 3rd member representative meeting & the 6th session of the 3rd council board meeting of China Agricultural Association for International Exchange was held in Beijing on September 27, 2018. Approved by State Organs Work Committee of the CPC Central Committee and filed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, officially took office as President of the Association.

In his inauguration speech, Chen Xiaojia first thanked leaders, directors and members of the Association for their trust and support, and expressed that he will fulfill his responsibilities and duties to make progress together with all member enterprises. He mentioned that the key direction of the Association is to serve national strategies, just as President Xi Jinping pointed out that if China wants to be strong, agriculture must be strong. We should expand the influence of the Association, strengthen international exchanges, pay equal attention to “bringing in” and “going global”, and make it a symbol of China’s modern agriculture going global, he added.

The meeting was attended by more than 50 guests including Sui Pengfei, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Yang Yi, Director of Foreign Economic Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Tong Yu’e, Director of Center for International Cooperation Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Song Juguo, Deputy Director of Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as well as representatives from international organizations including United Nations World Food Programme, representatives from various vice-president units and director units of the Association.
