On May 21st, 2019, the inauguration ceremony of the aluminum profile factory invested by CITIC Alumínio (Angola) Co., Ltd. was held in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE). Gong Tao, Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Li Yongjun, Counselor of Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Angola, Tao Yang, President of the CITIC Construction, Licínio Contreiras, Director of the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), and Carlos Neto André, Executive Director of the Luanda-Bengo ZEE attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon for it.
In his speech, Gong Tao congratulated on the inauguration of the factory and mentioned that the CITIC Construction aluminum profile factory, as one of the largest investment projects of Chinese-invested companies for Angola, had boosted its economic development, enhanced its capability of independent development, and mitigated the unemployment pressure, improving the local living standards. Then, Contreiras and Neto highlighted in their speeches that they would spare no efforts to support the operation and development of the factory and take multiple measures to improve the business environment to facilitate investment in Angola.
The ceremony was covered by National Radio of Angola, Journal of Angola, and many other local mainstream media. They interviewed Tao Yang after the ceremony.
Other attendees included Li Zhengquan, Vice President of CITIC Construction and General Manager of its Africa Division, and other staff from the same division and financial department.
