Tao Yang, President of CITIC Construction, and Kyaw Win, President of Shwe Than Lwin Group signed the strategic cooperation agreement in Rangoon on September 21, 2019. Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific Division has signed a MoU on cooperation with the subsidiary company of Shwe Than Lwin Group on seven projects including the water and land transportation of the Irrawaddy River.
Tao Yang expressed that CITIC Construction has been giving weight to the sustainable development of Myanmar’s market and appreciated the capability and responsibility of Shwe Than Lwin Group in project cooperation. Seven projects of signed MoU on cooperation was the achievement of joint efforts from both sides, he added.
CITIC Construction would like to carry out in-depth cooperation with Shwe Than Lwin Group in transportation, municipal affairs and agriculture and etc., with their respective advantages given full play, so as to jointly develop the markets of Myanmar and even the ASEAN region.
The Belt and Road Initiative gave strong impetus to China-Myanmar cooperation, and the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement was a new threshold of cooperation of both sides, Kyaw Win said, hoping China and Myanmar could better complement each other’s strengths to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Heads from the Asia-Pacific Division and the Agricultural Development Department accompanied Tao Yang for the signing ceremony and discussion.
