On July 22, 2021, the 12th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum co-hosted by China International Contractors Association and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute opened in Macao. The forum, themed on "jointly promoting the new development of international infrastructure cooperation", focuses on financial innovation and the combination of industry and finance, and highlights the new opportunities and challenges under the background of "double carbon drive"(peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060). Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ren Hongbin, Assistant Minister of Commerce of China, and other officials addressed the conference. Fang Qiuchen, President of China International Contractors Association, presided over the opening ceremony. Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction and Vice President of China International Contractors Association, was invited to attend the forum, accompanied by Yang Jianqiang, Executive Vice General Manager of CITIC Construction.
On May 10th, 2021 in Venezuela, CORPOVEX and the Ministry of Water Resources, the owner and end-user of seawater desalination project on Margarita Island signed a final acceptance letter to CITIC Construction, marking the handover of the main plant and the whole desalination system and that CITIC Construction has performed full contractual responsibilities and obligations as the contractor.
On April 19, 2021, on behalf of Chamber of Commerce Angola-China (CCAC), CITIC Construction signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Implementation of the “Professional Internship Program” with the National Bureau for Employment and Vocational Training of Angola. Gong Tao, Chinese Ambassador to Angola attended the signing ceremony and delivered a speech. The Governor of Luanda, Angola, the Chief of the Presidential Office, the Minister of Education, the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Acting Minister of the Ministry of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security and the State Secretary were present at the ceremony. Guo Sen, Deputy General Manager of African Division of CITIC Construction, signed the memorandum and gave a speech on behalf of CCAC.
Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, and Wan Jun, General Manager of China National Agricultural Development Group Co., Ltd (CNADC), held talks on the afternoon of March 23rd, 2021. Following their meeting, they witnessed the signing of the strategic cooperation between both companies. Yang Jianqiang, Deputy President of CITIC Construction, and Liu Hui, Deputy General Manager of CNADC, inked the agreement on behalf of respective companies.
The gas turbine for the self-provided power station of the potash fertilizer project undertaken by CITIC Construction in Belarus was successfully hoisted in place on March 22, 2021. The representatives of the project owner were present.
On January 19, 2020, Farouk Chiali, Minister of Public Works and Acting Minister of Transport of Algeria, visited and inspected the 84 km eastern section of the east-west highway in Algeria in the accompany of the governor of El-Tarf and the director of the Highway Administration of El-Tarf.
Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, met at the headquarters with Yuri Senko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China on January 19, 2021.
The chicken and cattle feed workshop of CITIC Construction-Belarus agro-industrial complex project started a trial production with raw materials on December 24, 2020, and produced successfully the first batch of two tons of qualified cattle feed. Following the first production of the premix workshop in November, the chicken and cattle feed workshop became the second workshop for a successful trial production. As a strategic leading part of the project, the construction of the feed workshop project continues its progress smoothly as planned.
The Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventh Council of China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) & 2020 Industry Annual Meeting was held in Xi`an from December 24 to 25, attracting nearly 300 representatives from about 150 CHINCA council members. As the vice chairman of the CHINCA, CITIC Construction attended the event upon invitation.
